We are now in our 11th year of the outreach program in Balik which is located in the poverty-stricken area of the Dobrich region. Here we are able to reach the forgotten children from the Roma culture and gypsy descendants. Most of these children are unsupervised and run the streets and become exposed to prostitution and child sex trafficking. Making a difference in a life of a child is essential. The HRBG team and I work diligently to help educate and supply the resources so the children can learn and teach them to adapt to Bulgarian society. As I continue in my work in Bulgaria I see the need for assisting parents as well as children. Breaking the cycle takes time and patience. Each of these children is at risk of being used in human trafficking as well as selling into prostitution among the mafia and pimps. Our summer camp program began 18 years ago, and all the children really love it! There is no person who has provided this for these precious children without any cost. The camp was a dream of my mother 20 years ago and we are still reaching new children every year for the Kingdom of God. They receive training in the Bible, music, and life skills, and also enjoy the sports we offer. HRBG is planning to revitalize the Hope Center with the purpose of reaching more children and being closer to their homes located in the slums in Balik. This change will help give them a place of safety and security when they feel threatened and afraid. The parents and children will be able to receive free food, clothing, medical supplies, and training for job opportunities for the parents. Also, we teach awareness programs for problems with domestic violence, drug abuse, and human trafficking. The most vital part of HRBG is reaching and teaching everyone we meet about the love of God, and Jesus, His Son. who gave His life for all to have everlasting life in Heaven. We are in Bulgaria to help break the cycle of poverty and hopelessness that has plagued this gypsy culture for over 500 years.

One of our focal points right now is to encourage and love and support for some of these forgotten children and youth. We are in negotiations on finding a house of refuge foe these abandoned children who have no one to care for them – single Moms who have nowhere to go….the list goes on. Will have assistance in every way we can to help these children and families.
